UPDATE: Body of Horsham man found in Leechpool Woods

The body of a Horsham man was found in Leechpool Woods this morning (Sunday May 18).

Police were called to the scene at 9.40am after a member of the public discovered the man’s body.

The woods, off Harwood Road, were then partially closed to the public while emergency services, including paramedics, dealt with the incident.

Police are not treating the matter as suspicious.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to the area after a member of the public believed he had seen a deceased male.

“Police have located the male. Police cordoned off the area to preserve the dignity of the male.

“The matter is not being treated as suspicious and the woods are now open again.”

The spokesperson added that the man was local to Horsham.
