UPDATE: A24 lane shut in Southwater after traffic accident

A lane of the A24 near Horsham has been closed due to an accident this afternoon (Tuesday July 30).

The southbound lane has been shut on the A24 Worthing Road in Southwater between the Mill Straight junction and Buck Barn Crossroads.

Police were called at around 2.40pm after a Mini travelling south left the road and hit a bank.

The vehicle was left in a dangerous position so officers had to close a lane of the carriageway while it was removed.

The female driver of the Mini suffered minor back injuries but did not need to go to hospital in an ambulance.
