Tributes paid to cyclist who died after collision in Horsham

Tributes have been paid to a ‘much loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend’ who died after a collision in Horsham on Monday (December 8).

Mike Dixon, 65, of Trundle Mead, Horsham, died after his bicycle was involved in a collision with a car in Kerves Lane just before 11am.

His family said: “Mike was a much loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He lost his life doing something he loved.

“We are devastated by our sudden loss and ask for privacy at this difficult time.”

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Police have charged a man who has given his name as Luigi Dannile, 26, of Broadwater Lane, Copsale, near Horsham, with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

“The man was remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday December 10).”

Police are still appealing for any witnesses to email [email protected] quoting Operation Ashling or to call 101.
