‘Pothole’ shuts A24 near Horsham until Friday

The A24 will be shut northbound until Friday, August 28, due to a pothole.

West Sussex County Council said the ‘large pothole’ has caused the road to sink, posing a danger to road users.

The road is shut northbound between Mill Straight and B2237 Worthing Road (Hop Oast Park And Ride Roundabout). The closure was first put in place on Saturday, August 22.

Police will be on the scene to manage traffic with drivers being diverted through Southwater.

Traffic has been heavy in the village as a result.

The county council has been approached for more information.
