Motorcyclist injured in Ockley traffic accident

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the A29 at Ockley on Thursday night (July 26).

The incident happened just after 6.30pm when a Kawasaki motorbike was in collision with a silver Mercedes on Stane Street.

The 44-year-old biker was travelling from Beare Green towards Ockley when he was in collision with the car travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the incident the motorcyclist from the South coast area was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with multiple injuries, where his condition was described as critical.

The 52-year-old driver of the Mercedes was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions, re-opening at 10pm.
