The entry ramp has been closed, and two lanes shut on the M25 clockwise at junction 9 A244 (Leatherhead).

There have been long delays and queueing traffic, which at one stage was eight miles long, due to recovery work.

Congestion has been as far as junction 8 (Reigate).

Reports are that a broken down crane left a trail of oil to clear up in lanes one and two.

Workmen are still on site making the area safe and there is still no access from junction 9.
