Injured man trapped in four metre deep trench at Loxwood

Firefighters are on the scene of an accident at Loxwood where a man has fallen into a four metre deep trench.

They were called to Oakhurst Lane shortly after 12.30pm today (Thursday, July 14) after reports that the man had fallen into a large construction trench.

Billingshurst firefighters were first on the scene.

They have now been joined by the rescue tender from Crawley and a crew from the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service technical rescue team.

The man is reported to have suffered ahead injury.
