Henfield man injured in fatal collision

A Henfield teenager suffered a broken arm in a two-vehicle collision in which two other people died yesterday (Friday October 24).

A police statement says that a man and a woman - respectively the driver and passenger in a silver Toyota Avensis - both died following the crash on the A280 Long Furlong at Patching, near Worthing.

Their car was in collision with a white Ford Ranger pick-up at about 4.40pm last night. The man, 69, and woman, 70, both from Littlehampton, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, an 18-year-old man from Henfield, suffered a broken arm and was taken to Worthing Hospital.

The A280 was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
