There will be five months of roadworks on the main road into Billingshurst from Horsham.
Natta Building Company, on behalf of Dunmoore Properties Limited, will be carrying out highway improvement works on the A29 Stane Street, Land North of Hilland Farm, Billingshurst as required by the planning application No. DC/18/2122 relating to the new development.
Work started on Monday, June 29 and is planned to last until November 27.
A Natta spokeswoman said: “The carriageway improvement works include: the construction of a new roundabout on the A29, Stane Street including the associated street lighting, to facilitate access into the new development and drainage improvements to this section of the A29 under Section 278/ 38 agreement.
“The proposed scheme also includes the new foul and surface water drainage connection for the new development at A29 under a Section 50. “
During the works, traffic flow will be restricted, under different temporary two-way and three-way traffic lights and traffic management plans, she added. A speed limit restriction of 40mph will also be put in place.
To complete the scheme, two road closures will be needed but more information will be published nearer the time, the spokeswoman said. During the closure, diversion routes will be made available.
