The roaid is partly blocked at the B2237 Warnham Road/Robin Hood roundabout, according to the AA.
And West Sussex County Council has warned drivers to avoid the area.
In a statement, a spokesman said: “There has been an accident on the A24 at the Robin Hood junction in #Horsham Please avoid the area: traffic is building.”
