Car bursts into flames on A24

THIS was the dramatic scene after a car burst into flames following a collision with a coach on the A24 this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the accident northbound at Dial Post at 12.45pm.

A woman, believed to be the driver, was taken to Worthing Hospital to be treated for a cut to the face.

The southbound carriageway was closed for a short while because of smoke but has now re-opened.

Diversions are in place on the northbound carriageway while vehicles are recovered. Roads are expected to re-open soon.
