Boy airlifted to hospital after crash at motocross track near Upper Beeding

A ten-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after a motorcycle crash near Upper Beeding yesterday (Monday March 9).

The incident happened at Golding Barn Raceway, a motocross track between Upper Beeding and Small Dole, at about 4pm.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said the boy hit a post, causing him to come off the motorbike.

The spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called to the Golding Barn Raceway circuit to attend to a ten-year-old boy who had come off his motorbike after hitting a post.

“An ambulance crew treated the patient on scene who was complaining of neck pains and he was taken by air ambulance to Shoreham Airport for onward transmission to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for further treatment.”

A spokesperson for the air ambulance said the boy suffered an injury to his upper leg as well as to his neck.
