There are long delays on the A272 at Coolham after ‘approximately 200 litres of Kerosene’ was spilt, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has said.

The fire service said the incident has happened close to the Coolham crossroads.

Firefighters have been sent to the scene and are waiting for Highways England to clear the road.

There are not thought to be any road closures in place but there are long delays, according to the fire service.

An eyewitness at the scene said a cordon was in place and described the traffic as ‘chaos’.

Sussex Police and the Environment Agency are also reportedly on the scene.
