A spokesperson for Southern Rail said: “Following earlier over-running engineering work between Brighton and Three Bridges and as a result of a signal equipment fault restricting platform capacity at London Bridge, train services are subject to possible delay, alteration or short notice cancellation this morning.

“We together with Network Rail are working hard to restore services to normal as quickly as possible until then First Capital Connect, Gatwick Express, Southern, Southeastern, London Tramlink, London Overground and London Underground are all accepting each others tickets over reasonable alternative routes.

“Please allow extra time for your journey if possible and while travelling listen carefully for all station and on train announcements as services may be amended at short notice.”
