Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision at Midhurst on Saturday (7 February) in which a 60-year-old local man died.
It happened shortly before 5.30pm at the junction of the A286 and Oaklands Lane, just south of Midhurst.
A blue Peugeot 307 car, travelling north, was in collision with the man, who was walking with two dogs.
Neither the car driver, a man aged 25, nor his front seat passenger, a woman aged 24, and both from Wisborough Green, near Petworth, were hurt.
But the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released on bail until 19 April while enquiries continue.
