Tories romp to Southwater by-election victory

The Tories have romped home to a convincing victory in yesterday's Southwater by-election.

Billy Greening will succeed Ian Howard as one of three representatives for the village at Horsham District Council.

Mr Howard died in late August.

Mr Greening was elected with almost two-thirds of total votes on a turnout of 19.99 per cent.

Final results: Billy Greening (Con): 1,046 votes (66.2 per cent)

Richard Greenwood (Lib Dem): 308

Kevin O’Sullivan (Lab): 118

Uri Baran (UKIP): 109

Rejected: 4

Turnout 19.99 per cent
