Words are powerful. They can build up or tear down. Communicate love or hate.
Inspire nations or individuals to greatness or be used to deceive and mislead.
Words can communicate ideas and ideals. The meaning of words may change with a new generations ‘wicked’ becomes ‘good’. What words cannot do though is change what is true and real.
The nation currently faces an attempt to redefine one very important word: Marriage.
If the proposed legislation becomes law it will profoundly impact what is taught in our local schools, what ceremonies are conducted in our local registry office and those, who in good conscience, cannot accept that trying to redefine marriage under the banner of equality will actually change what it is.
Marriage predates government and the church. Marriage has been from the beginning and will remain a covenant between one man and one woman.
