Carole Knight, a teacher at Arunside Primary School, has recently returned from a visit to Kenya to work in Bikeke Primary School in Kitale, situated in Northern Kenya.
This is part of the Global School Partnership initiative organised by the British Council. It gives the children in both countries an opportunity to learn about children and schools in other places. Arunside has had a partnership with Bikeke Primary School for a few years now and they have worked together on a variety of projects.
“It was an amazing experience,” commented Carole Knight. “The children were very interested in our school and asked me many questions. Children from Arunside School are also very interested and asked many questions on my return. The school environments are very different but the big similarity is that the children in both schools are learning and the teachers are teaching! We all look forward to continuing this very valuable partnership.”
