SWAN Walk shoppers in Horsham have turned their bags of donations into bags of money for Cancer Research UK.

The centre launched its Cancer Research UK Donation Station initiative on May 19.

By Sunday May 29, the end of the event, more than 689 bags of goods had been donated, raising more than £17,225.00 for the charity’s life-saving research.

These items will now be sold at Cancer Research UK’s shops in Horsham and all profits raised will help support the charity’s work.

Gill Buchanan, centre manager of Swan Walk, said: “I would like to thank our customers for their generosity and support. It’s great to achieve yet another fantastic result in a short space of time and it has been a delight to work with the local Cancer Research UK team again.”

Yvonne O’Connor, Cancer Research UK’s area manager, is delighted with the success.

She said: “The support has been phenomenal and has far exceeded what we had hoped for. Cancer Research UK would like to thank everyone at Swan Walk and the people of Horsham for their wonderful support.”
