Sussex dancers at the Hawth

SUSSEX children and teenagers ‘saw their dream come true’ as they performed to a 700 strong audience over the weekend.

The amateur dancers, aged from five to 18, performed the show ‘And The Dream Lives on’ in Crawley’s Hawth Theatre on Friday 16 and Saturday September 17.

The show, produced by Sussex professional dancer Fiona Whyte at Fi Steps Dance Studio, included everything from ballet to street dance and marked a landmark 20th birthday for the dance school.

She said: “The young dancers are from all walks of life and are all shapes and sizes, proving that talent isn’t about being a certain ‘type’.

“This performance was a celebration of our local young people, their talent and what can be achieved with determination, hard work and working together as part of a team.

“There was blood, sweat and even a few tears in the run up to the show, and the cast rehearsed tirelessly to perfect the routines.”

Fi Steps was set up by Fiona to create opportunities for youngsters from diverse backgrounds to perform in a safe and fun environment.
