Sarah Ross, manager of the charity shop in West Street, has thanked Waitrose after the supermarket presented a cheque for £1,114 to the charity.

She said: “Thank you to Waitrose for helping the people of Horsham who are going to be diagnosed, or who have been diagnosed.

“Although more people are being diagnosed with the disease, we are curing more people.”

The donation was made via Waitrose’s Community Matters scheme.

Under the scheme, shoppers are given a green token to place in one of three boxes representing charities - with each token contributing to the overall donation made.
