Rail operator Southern came in for more criticism today, after six trains in a row were cancelled on the London to Horsham route.

Warren Fiveash, who commutes from Horsham to his workplace in London, told the County Times that services to Horsham seem to have been badly affected by cancellations since the amended weekday timetable was brought in.

“The train issues are daily now,” he said. “I have to look every day to see if my train has been cancelled or is delayed.

“I haven’t been able to make it into work on quite a few occasions and on more than a handful of occasions it’s taken me nearly three hours to get home.

“I understand why this is happening but the changed timetable doesn’t seemed to have made much of a difference to the scheduling.

“I see and hear people getting very stressed all the time so it can’t be good for people’s general wellbeing, particularly in Horsham, which seems to be a destination that is affected a lot.

“I hope this can be resolved for everyone sooner rather than later.”
