STREET parties are set to take over Horsham as road closures are being booked for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Horsham District Council has welcomed anyone wishing to hold street parties to contact the council to arrange a road closure.

There are 25 roads on the closure schedule already and party planners have until Monday May 14 to apply.

There are 10 road closures planned for Sunday June 3:

The Causeway, Horsham, 9am to 7.30pm

Golding Lane, Mannings Heath, 11.30 to 5pm

Cape Copse, Rudgwick, midday to 4pm

Mill Lane, Partridge Green, 11am to 5pm

Woodfield Road between Thurne Way and Kilnfield Road, Rudgwick, 12pm to 12am

Woodfield, Southwater, fronting houses 11 to 13 and 10 to 36, 11am to 5pm

Old Millmeads, Horsham, fronting houses 45 to 47 and 24 to 32, 11.30 to 7pm

Croft Way, Horsham, mid day to 11pm

Church Street between Bell Road and Hollands Way, Warnham, 9am to 9pm

The diversionary route will be via Hollands way, Lucas Road, Tilletts Lane, Knob Hill and School Hill.

The High Street, between Tanyard Lane and Church Street, Steyning, 8am to 6pm

A one-way traffic system will be in operation in Tanyard Lane, Church Lane and Church Street and in Sheep Pen Lane, White Horse Square, Charlton Street, Mill Road and Sir Georges Place during the period of the road closure.

Friday Street, Rusper, 11am to 6pm

Daux Way, Billingshurst, 1pm to 10pm

Rowan Way, Horsham, fronting houses 23 to 27 and 18 to 34, 12pm to 8pm

Cedar Close, Horsham, fronting houses 14 to 18 and 21 to 23, 12pm to 9pm

Dickins Way, Horsham, fronting houses 21 to 34, 12pm to 10pm

Hillside, Horsham, 12pm to 8pm

Hurst Avenue, Horsham, 10am to 10pm

The Pines, Horsham, 11am to 6.30pm

Honeywood Road, Horsham, 12pm to 8pm

Old London Road, Coldwaltham, from 6am Monday to 6am Tuesday

There are three road closures booked for Tuesday June 5:

Somergate, Horsham, 9am to 11pm

Beaver Close, Horsham, fronting houses 22 to 33, 10am to 9.30pm

Hill Mead, Horsham, 11am to 6pm

Barrington Road, Horsham, 10am to 10pm

Norfolk Road and Wellington Road between Chichester Terrace and Norfolk Terrace, Horsham, 12pm on Sunday June 3 to 12pm on Tuesday June 5.

To make an application HDC must be provided with the following information: A name and contact telephone number and e-mail address of the applicant, the anticipated attendance numbers, the date of the event, the road name, the times of closure, and a marked street plan.

Ordinarily, road closures require an administrative charge of £100 but this is not required for the Diamond Jubilee although organisers are advised to take out their own public liability insurance cover for such event.
