Crowds of up to 20,000 are expected ot descend on Wiston House in Steyning, West Sussex on the late May bank holiday (May 25 and 26) for the fifth BigChurchDayOut.
This annual event continues to be one of the largest national ecumenical gatherings from all denominations of the church as well as attracting increasing numbers of people who would not normally go to church because of its value as a great family day out.
The BigChurchDayOut is about people and faith, music and worship, activities, families, and just being together.
There’s something for everybody, from a nice cup of tea with a Chamber Orchestra, to high energy worship, and some of the best ‘Christian’ music the world has to offer.
This year’s lineup of 34 artists includes no less than two of this year’s Grammy award winners Matt Redman and Israel Houghton, along with ’80s stars Amy Grant and Yazz.
Tim Jupp, festival director, said: “So often the media paint a picture of a church that is in decline, but the BigChurchDayOut helps to tell another story, of an active church that is committed to playing its part in the community as well as enjoying two days of great fun together.”
Tickets for the weekend are £42 for adults, £32 for five to 16 year olds, £19 for each additional young person or £120 for a family of two adults and two children. Entry for under fives is free.
Single day tickets and group passes for ten or more people are also available. Prices are more expensive on the gate on the day.
