Part of the Sparks in the Park event at Horsham Park on Sunday (July 15) will take place in the town centre following a forecast of more rain.
The charity Under 17s Driving Experience will now take place at Swan Yard in the Carfax (behind COOK).
Although the rest of the event will still take place in the Park, organisers don’t want to risk damaging the ground with the cars and so it has been moved to its new location.
Parking will also not be permitted in the park as was originally arranged (due to the wet ground) and visitors are now asked to park in town, where parking is free anyway on a Sunday.
The Under 17 Driving Experience will be organised and run by Stay Safe’s fully trained team of experienced driving instructors who are offering their time and skills for free.
Anyone over 14 with parental permission can take part in the event which gives young people an opportunity to learn and practise steering control, basic manoeuvres, driver observation techniques and brain to action co-ordination.
The event is in aid of Sussex Air Ambulance, and participants will be asked to make a minimum donation to the charity in return for taking part.
