Skindred mix metal and reggae

Family Entertainments presents Skindred at Concorde 2, Brighton on Tuesday, April 26 at 7.30pm.

Welsh band Skindred was formed in 1998 when frontman Benji Webbe left his previous band Dub War.

Mixing rock, metal and reggae, the band describe their sound as Ragga Metal, pairing with bands such as Korn and Sepultura. Their first album Babylon received attention across the world and took them to number one in the US reggae charts.

“It was their 2007 album Roots Rock Riot that pushed them further into the mainstream and they’ve been riding an incredible raga metal wave since,” says promoter Kairen Kemp.

“The 11-date tour will kick off at the Concorde Brighton on April 26 and will showcase tracks from the much-anticipated new album Union Black due out on BMG Records in April 2011.”
