The site of a major new school set to be built in Horsham has now been unveiled.

The co-educational school will be run by the Bohunt Education Trust and will provide places for 1,600 chidren aged from four to 16 on land off Rusper Road earmarked for the North Horsham development

Initially the new school - Bohunt Horsham - will open next September for Year 7 pupils only in temporary accommodation at Arun House in Hurst Road.

But the school plans to move to a new permanent building in North Horsham in September 2020. It will be at the centre of a major development of up to 2,750 homes and a business park, as well as sports facilities. Planing permission was granted by Horsham District Council in May 2017.

The trust announced yesterday that it had appointed Georgette Ayling as the school’s first head teacher.
