Motorists are being advised to avoid the M23 following a road traffic collision involving three vehicles this morning (Wednesday February 25).
The collision on the northbound carriageway happened at around 6.56am between junction 9 at Horley/Gatwick and the M25 at junction 8.
It involved a black VW Caddy van, silver Toyota and a lorry. One person was extricated from a vehicle, but there were no serious injuries.
Currently lane one is open and lanes two and three are closed northbound.
Traffic is extremely congested on the M23 north and southbound and is backing up onto the M25.
