Seraphim showcase EP

Barnham-based four-piece Seraphim are on a roll with their debut EP which they will be showcasing at the Barnham Bridge Inn (opposite the railway station) on July 16 at 8pm (free admission).

For the band, it’s all about getting the EP out to the right people, and so far the signs are good. They produced a hundred and within a few days had only five or six left.

Paul Dickson, of the band, said: “We have been around for about a year. The band as it is now has been around for about four months. We play regularly in The Vestry.”

Physical copies of the EP are available from the band or can be downloaded. Simply search for the band through Facebook.

“The music is hard to describe. It’s a mix between rock and pop and country and progressive and alternative. Every song sounds a bit different but at the same time it sounds the same.

“I write the guitar and vocals and lyrics and then let everyone else do their own thing.

“The drummer and the bassist and I have been friends for about two years, and I met the keyboard player when I was studying music at Chichester College.”

Response to the EP has been encouraging: “People do seem to really enjoy it. It’s about getting it out there now.”

A full album would be good at some point: “At the moment we have got about three original songs and we have got more ideas as well. It’s just finding the time to sit down and get them all worked out - and then the money to record all of them.”
