Schoolboy rushed to hospital after crash outside Broadbridge Heath Tesco

A schoolboy was rushed to hospital after being involved in a crash outside Tesco in Broadbridge Heath this morning (October 10).

Police said the 13-year-old was riding his bike when he was involved in a collision with a car near the entrance to the Wickhurst Lane store at about 8am.

The boy was treated at the scene before being taken to East Surrey Hospital for further checks. Officers said his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police said the car drove off without supplying any details. It was later discovered in Charlwood Road, Crawley, at about 1pm.

A police spokesman said: “A 41-year-old woman, from Crawley, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision, no insurance, no driving licence, and possession of cannabis, and is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.
