The Friendly Club celebrated their 50th anniversary with a lunch held at the Rudgwick Sports and Community Centre situated on the King George V Playing Fields, Bucks Green, on Monday June 12.
The lunch was provided by club members Ted and Kay Brown which was followed by music by David Farley, a long standing member, on his piano accordion.
After lunch members were transported by the Pennthorpe School minibus to the RUdgwick Hall and were joined by friends from the village for more entertainment provided by Bertie Pearce, an internationally renowned Magic Circle magician and illusionist who was absolutely fabulous.
Tea was then provided after the speeches accompanied by Tom Moss on the piano playing a selection of both contemporary and modern music.
The day was a huge success and thanks are due to all the committee - Judy Morley, Angela Farley, Marie Till, Daphne Tunks, Gillian Streeter, Rene Perry, Barbara Weeds and Anne Stevenson - for making preparations for the event on the previous evening and on the day at both the Sports and Community Centre and at the Rudgwick Hall.
