Every year West Sussex County Council, in partnership with its highways contractor Balfour Beatty, lets school children name three bright yellow gritting vehicles.

This year Samuel Milton, of Rudgwick Primary School, impressed judges with the name Ice Cracker, while Ethan Schmidt, of Ashington First School, came up with the second winning name of Sussex Snowflake.
