Traffic is congested after a lorry left the road at the A280 Long Furlong this morning (Wednesday April 20).
The vehicle ripped through a hedge and ended up in a field by the side of the road.
The incident is thought to have happened in the early hours of this morning.
PC Steve Taylor of Sussex Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter that officers were planning to close the road to recover the vehicle at 10am.
In the meantime, drivers have been warned to expect delays in the Findon area, particularly near Findon Roundabout.
Early reports indicated the vehicle had rolled.
