Restaurants could be attracted to other parts of Horsham town centre

Horsham District Council are hoping to attract more restaurants to other areas of the town centre, due to the success of East Street as a culinary hotbed.

The Bishopric and West Street were both mooted by councillors as possible restaurant locations at a cabinet meeting last Wednesday (April 23).

Godfrey Newman (LDem, Forest), said: “Maybe we need to have restaurants encouraged to move along into some parts of West Street.

“Apart from the lights there doesn’t seem to be anything going on in the evenings.

“Maybe that is something that would be interesting to look at.”

Helena Croft (Con, Roffey North) said: “People come to eat at our restaurants.

“Yes, we need to promote further eating possibilities down in the Bishopric.”

The comments were made after Ms Croft presented her report on ‘Promoting Horsham Town Centre’ to members.
