Cranleigh Prep pupils have achieved a record number of 49 scholarships (13 academic, nine all rounder, nine art, ten music and eight sport).
The awards were to eight different schools, including Cranleigh School, Charterhouse, Hurstpierpoint, KES Witley, Prior’s Field, Reigate Grammar, St John’s Leatherhead and Wellington College.
Having gained a total of 95 scholarships and awards over the previous three years to 22 different senior schools, the prep school has realised its best ever results, with 47 of these awards given to a Year 8 group of 68 pupils.
The headmaster, Michael Wilson, says: “I am particularly encouraged to see such a range of scholarships, as it reflects our ethos of all round involvement.
“We are obviously delighted for those who have won awards but it is important to reflect on the fact that the quality of the educational journey will always be more important than the candy handed out at the end of it!”
