14 ewes have been stolen from a field in Rusper, police have said.
A police spokesman said the theft occurred overnight between Wednesday (October 7) and Thursday (October 8) at a field beside High Street.
One further sheep was found dead at the scene.
The spokesman added eight of the stolen sheep were Devon and Cornwall Longhorns, a rare breed used for show events, and the flock is worth several thousands of pounds.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the Rusper area at the time is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 312 of 08/10.
