Pupils reach next stage of '˜500 Words' competition

The BBC Radio 2 '˜500 Words' is now one of the most successful story-writing competitions for children in the world. Nearly half a million pupils have submitted stories to the competition; that's over 215 million words!

This year, over 123,400 entries were submitted and these have now been whittled down to a long-list of 4,500 entries, which will now go to the Reading Agency to be short-listed.

Shortly before the Easter holidays, some of Cranleigh Prep pupils submitted their own entries to the competition.
