At the centre, the children looked around at the various creatures including sea horses, tropical fish, sea turtles, sting rays and sharks and learned about their habitats.

An expert talked to them about the conservation of sea turtles and how to recycle plastic responsibly so that it does not have a detrimental effect on wildlife.

Theo from Year 2 said, “My favourite part was going through the tunnel of sea creatures.

“I learnt that sting rays have small flippers by their tails so you can tell they’re a male.”

Vicky Dedman, Year 2 Leader, commented, “This type of visit is a valuable way to help the children develop their understanding of global issues in a relaxed environment.”
