The final of Tanbridge House School’s Year 8 Masterchef competition took place this week with three finalists competing for the top accolade.
The three students were tasked to design, cook and present a dish using a limited range of food items; similar to one of the challenges set on the BBC competition.
To help with the judging, the school was delighted to welcome back an ex-head girl, Caitlin Smith.
Caitlin, graduated last year and, with her Mum, opened ‘The Little Teahouse’ in Southwater’s Lintot Square earlier this year. Caitlin said that business was doing really well.
The Teahouse specialises in home-made cakes Tanbridge’s Y8 Masterchef winner was Megan Hill who served a dish of strawberry and chocolate profiteroles. Runners up were Ana Lanzon and Tim Edwards.
Miss Watson, Leader of Year 8 said: “The standard of cooking far surpassed my expectations and it was really difficult to arrive at a final decision, but Megan’s desert was just fantastic.”
