Pulborough charity to hold fundraising concert for First World War centenary

Pulborough-based charity Building Heroes which is celebrating receiving an '˜award of silhouettes' will be holding a fundraising concert on Saturday November 24.

The award, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, was made under the Armistice and Armed Forces Communities programme.

As part of the First World War centenary events calendar, Building Heroes in conjunction with the Chanctonbury Chorus, will be holding the concert of remembrance and reflection from 7.30pm at St Andrews Church in Steyning.

The evening will incorporate Benjamin Britten’s Hymn to St Cecilia with music by Bach, Ruter, Byrd and words by W H Auden. To set the scene there will be a montage of memories slideshow and sentimental readings.
