Molly Smith and her family have extra to spend this Christmas after being rewarded with £500 for winning the Swan Walk Snowman Selfie competition at the Horsham shopping centre.

However if the youngster gets her way the winnings will all be spent on going swimming with her daddy and a lifetime supply of Kinder Eggs.

Molly said:“I am really happy and excited.”

The picture was captured by her mother, Emma Smith, who was a little bit shocked her entry had won.

She said: “It was a bit of a shock, I only found out I had won through a friend who tagged me in the post on Facebook. It is unbelievable and it has come just in time for Christmas.”

But Emma admitted the selfie almost never happened and the picture was a complete accident.

She said: “I hadn’t been in town for a few weeks but I thought I must bring Molly in and take a photo in front of the display. She saw Ben, her brother, coming over and it was at that moment she said look and I took the picture. It was all a complete accident.”

This is the first year the shopping centre has run the Snowman Selfie competition.

Gill Buchanan, Swan Walk centre manager, said she was delighted with how successful it had been and congratulated both Emma and Molly on their winning entry.
