Proposals for 48 homes have been put forward for land on the Crawley/Horsham border at Pease Pottage.

Rural Eco Ltd & Hyde Housing Association have submitted joint application to Horsham District Council 23 flats and 25 houses on land south of Buchan Hill reservoir off Horsham Road.

The developer’s plans, which include 22 affordable homes, are for 22 one bed flats, one two-bed flat, seven two bed houses, 13 three-bed houses and five houses with four or more bedrooms.

Colgate and Slaugham Parish Councils have submitted objections to the plans for reasons including that the development would increase traffic on an already busy Horsham Road, that it lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This is the third attempt by a developer to build housing here. Two applications submitted in 2013 were both refused.
