Horsham’s Drill Hall listed as community asset
Drill Hall has been accepted on the council’s list of assets of community value after it was nominating by the Horsham Society.
The building in Denne Road, Horsham, and the music studio are currently owned by Horsham District Council.
The Horsham Society believes these are the first two buildings to be nominated in the town.
The designation means that if the council, as owner, wants to sell the buildings the community has the opportunity to bid to acquire the asset.
Last August a council report was leaked to the County Times suggesting selling Drill Hall as one possible option, but the cabinet member responsible said it was an old document and was ‘a million miles’ from anything that was currently happening.
