Horsham council launches paperless billing

A helpful e-billing service is being launched in the Horsham District to give residents the option of viewing their Council Tax bills online.

The new service is completely free to residents and means that instead of receiving a traditional paper bill, residents can now choose to receive an email containing either their bills in a PDF format or a link to access their bills online.

The usual paper bill format will continue to be available and the new online service is an additional way for residents to access Council Tax bills online at any time of the day.

Some of the benefits of the new service are that it is a free, convenient 24 hour self service and it is better for the environment as it saves paper.

It also rules out the chance that bills could be delayed in the post.

Residents still have the choice to download and print their bills themselves if required.

The e-billing system is being launched to help Horsham District Council reduce its printing and postage costs.

Roger Arthur, Horsham District Council’s cabinet member for efficiency and resources, said: “This represents significant progress towards the seamless processing of Council Tax billing and payments. I am sure that it will in the long term prove more convenient to residents than the current paper driven system.”
