The Notice of Election has been published for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections taking place next month.
Voters across the Horsham District will be asked to vote for a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Sussex Police area when the polling stations open on Thursday November 15 2012 from 7am to 10pm.
Residents can vote in person, by appointing a proxy (someone to vote on their behalf), or by applying for a postal vote.
Nomination papers for candidates must be delivered to the Police Area Returning Officer at the Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Bartholomew Square, Brighton, BN1 1JA, by 12 noon on Friday 19 October 2012.
Nomination papers can be obtained from the Police Area Returning Officer at the address above on Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Seven people have said they are standing and the poll will take place on Thursday November 15.
Each candidate must pay a deposit of £5,000 by the deadline for delivery of nominations either in cash or by banker’s draft.
For voters who live in the Horsham District:
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach Horsham District Council’s Electoral Registration team by 4pm on Wednesday October 31.
Applications to vote by proxy (appoint someone to vote on their behalf) must reach HDC’s Electoral Registration team by 5pm on Wednesday November 7.
For those who are applying to vote by proxy at this election on the grounds of a physical incapacity that occurs after this date, applications must reach Horsham District Council by 5pm on Thursday November 15.
