All competition entrants have to do is post a photo of their favourite ‘mocktail’, a non-alcoholic cocktail, on social media site Instagram using the hashtag #waterangel3FN and tagging @WaterAngelsussex.

The winner will receive tickets to see Gorgon City DJ set on Friday June 12, part of Goodwood’s Three Friday Nights events

Six ‘Water Angels’ dressed up in angel wings will be at the event handing out shots of water from water packs. Visitors will also be able to have their photos taken in a Water Angel photo booth.

Christine Field, WSCC’s cabinet member for community wellbeing, said: “The DJ nights at Goodwood are incredibly popular and it is great that Water Angel is going to be there reminding partygoers about how important it is not to forget to drink water on a night out. Good luck to everyone who enters the competition to win the tickets.”

Entries will appear on Water Angel’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WaterAngelUK) and people can vote for their favourite entry.

Launched by the county council last year the Water Angel scheme was the first of its kind in the UK, and aims to reduce alcohol-related anti-social behaviour and A&E visits by encouraging pubs, clubs and bars to make it as easy as possible for 18-24 year olds on a night out to get access to free drinking water.

Around 30 of the county’s licensed premises have already taken part in the scheme, while during Christmas and New Year a number of pubs and clubs in Crawley displayed posters and promotional material.

James Crespi, general manager at Goodwood Racecourse, added: “We are committed to encouraging our guests to drink responsibly whilst having fun at Goodwood and so we are delighted to be part of the Water Angel initiative - we look forward to welcoming the Angels to our Three Friday Nights next month.”

The Water Angel project worked with Chichester District Council to set up the promotion.
