The West Sussex Environment and Climate Change Board is putting together a ‘Business Resilience Manual’ and the first module is now available on its website.

The manual is being developed to help businesses consider the potential impacts of a changing climate and how they could prepared for these.

Louise Goldsmith (Con, Chichester West), leader of West Sussex County Council, said: “Business resilience is really important to any business large or small. This manual could really help businesses to identify cost savings and process improvements to strengthen their business. It will get businesses started on the issues, and will signpost them to further information to help put this in action.”

The board was formed in June 2010 and brings together organisations from all sectors in the county.

It aims to ensure:

Residents and businesses prosper;

• Natural resources are used wisely;

People, landscape and wildlife are able to adapt to changes in the climate; and

• Carbon emissions are reduced by at least 50 per cent by 2025.
