A spokeswoman for around 20 protesters who demonstrated outside the Balcombe MP and Cabinet Office minister’s office in Gough House on Madeira Avenue, Horsham said ‘he refuses to listen to the concerns of the local people and stand up for their right not have their country destroyed by fracking’.

The activists left a 16ft wind turbine blade which said “more wind” outside the office, they said.

Energy company, Cuadrilla, which has been conducting exploratory oil drilling near Balcombe, temporarily suspended its operations on Friday amid fears of unrest.
