Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a rape of a Horsham woman.
Police said a woman was raped on a footpath near St Mary’s Church on Sunday August 16.
They said the woman left a town centre bar in the early hours of the morning with a man.
They walked along East Street and down The Causeway, past St Marys Church, to a footpath which goes off to the left, where the attack took place.
They added the incident is not being connected with any other similar incidents in Horsham.
Detectives are keen to identify and speak with the man shown in the photograph who may be able to help the investigation.
They are also keen to speak with a group of men who they believe spoke to the woman after she was assaulted.
Detective Constable Roy Perryman said; “Anyone who can identify the man, or who was in the area at the time and saw the man and woman, or who has any other information, is asked to contact Sussex Police on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101, quoting serial 368 of 16/08. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Officers have been making intensive enquiries in the area since the crime was reported, and the woman has been receiving expert medical and welfare support.
