Police release e-fit of man in connection with Rudgwick burglary

The incident occurred on Friday, August 22 at a property in Church Street where the owner returned home at around 6.30pm to find drawers had been opened and jewellery had been stolen.

Police say a cleaner at the property answered the door to a man who asked for directions to the Co-Op.

He was with a woman who was standing at the end of the path to the house.

The cleaner saw the couple standing outside another house in the opposite direction from the shop at around 1pm as she left the property.

Detective constable Chris Merryfield-Day said: “This man is described as about 60, 5’ 6”, balding with dark hair and wearing a cream and brown stripped top.

“The woman he was with is described as in her 40s with long blond hair.

“We know this couple were in the area at the time of the break-in and may have seen something which could help with our investigation.”
